Powell - Mary Conner

Mrs. Mary J. POWELL expired Friday night at 8:45 at her home 3 1/2 miles SW of Advance at the age of 60 years 8 months 26 days. Death was caused by heart disease from which she had been suffering since Feb 12. Deceased was born in Montgomery County November 1, 1867. On November 26, 1882, she was married in Montgomery County to M. B. Powell who survives. Three brothers, William Conner of Jamestown; Smith Conner of Lanton, OK and Charles Conner of Advance and two sisters, Mrs. W. L. Smiley of New Ross and Mrs. C. F. Linn of Linnsburg also are living. Mrs. Powell was a member of the Christian Church at New Ross. She had been a resident of Montgomery and Boone Counties all her life. The funeral was held at the Christian Church in New Ross at 2 oclock Sunday afternoon. Rev. Charles O. Lee officating. Interment was at the IOOF [Independent Order of Odd Fellows] Cemetery at New Ross. - kbz
